Pricing you can sanity-check
2026 price bands, published
Nobody in this trade likes publishing prices, because freight and condition move the number. Here are honest bands for a 275-gallon unit, ex-yard Savannah. Add freight; subtract volume.
| Grade | Price band (ex-yard) | What you get | Paperwork |
|---|---|---|---|
| Food Grade | $185 – $340 | Syrups, brines, juice concentrate, edible oils, brewing liquor, potable water. | Prior-contents affidavit + wash certificate |
| Reconditioned | $120 – $225 | Non-food industrial liquids, ag chemicals, soaps, coolants, admixtures. | Wash certificate + test record |
| Rebottled | $210 – $365 | Buyers who need a clean bottle but refuse to pay new-tote money. | New-bottle resin certificate + assembly record |
| Rinsed / Clean Used | $95 – $165 | Water storage, dust control, non-critical dilution, construction and site use. | Prior-contents listing |
| As-Is / Unwashed | $55 – $110 | Upcyclers, fabricators, buyers with their own wash line. | Prior-contents disclosure |
| Scrap / Recycle Only | Paid by weight | Nothing — this is a material stream, not a container. | Diversion certificate |
Bands assume a 275-gallon composite unit with a steel base, in a quantity of 4 or more, collected from our yard. A 330-gallon unit typically runs 10 – 18% above the equivalent 275 grade. Plastic pallets add $18 – $30. New gaskets and valves are included in reconditioned and rebottled grades and priced separately on rinsed and as-is. Full pricing guide →

Work backwards from the liquid
Enter the volume you need to hold, the density of the product and your door or ceiling clearance. This tells you unit counts, filled weights and floor space before you ask us for anything.

What happens next
Four things we do with your request
We read it, a human does
No auto-responder pricing. A trader reads your prior contents and quantity and decides which grade actually fits — occasionally talking you down from an expensive one.
We search used stock first
Our floor, then all 38 partner yards. New containers get quoted only when the specification genuinely leaves no reclaimed option.
We price landed freight
LTL, lift-gate, flatbed or full trailer, quoted to your zip with the site constraints you gave us — not left as "freight TBD".
We attach the paperwork
Prior-contents disclosure, wash certificate, test record and UN marking details, quoted up front so nothing arrives as a surprise line item.
Selling rather than buying?
Use the same form and pick “Sell my used totes” under Select service. Put your unit count in Quantity and the prior contents in Message. We bid the same business day and pay on pickup.
How selling works →Need the whole yard cleared?
Mixed-condition piles, unknown counts, totes that have been outdoors for three winters — that is decommissioning, not a purchase. We triage on site and issue one diversion certificate for the whole clear-out.
Site decommissioning →What comes back
Every line you will see on our quote
So you can compare it against anyone else’s on the same basis. A quote missing two of these lines is not cheaper, it is less complete.
| Line | What it states | Why it is there |
|---|---|---|
| Grade, named | One of the six grades, explicitly | “Clean” has no agreed meaning |
| Unit price at the stated quantity | A number, not a range | Ranges hide quantity breaks |
| Landed freight to your postcode | A number, with mode | Never “freight TBD” |
| Base type | Steel, plastic, composite or wood | Decided by your floor |
| Valve size and gasket compound | DN50 or DN80; EPDM, Viton or silicone | Decided by your product |
| Lid type | Solid or vented | Decided by how you fill and draw |
| UN marking and remaining life | String, plus months of service life left | The clause most buyers forget |
| Paperwork included | Wash certificate, test record, affidavit reference | Priced in, not added later |
| Lead time | Business days from acceptance | So you can plan around it |
| Alternative, where one exists | A cheaper grade or different size, with reasoning | About one quote in six |
| Quote validity | A date | This market moves weekly |
Comparing offers
Six questions to ask any supplier
Not just us. These six separate a complete quote from an attractive-looking incomplete one, and they take two minutes.
| Ask | A good answer | A warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Which grade, exactly? | One of the standard six, named | “Clean”, “good condition”, “food safe” |
| Can I see the wash certificate? | Chemistry, temperature, cycle, operator | There is not one — it is rinsed grade |
| Is there a 3 psi test record? | Yes, dated, per serial | No record on a “reconditioned” unit |
| How many wash chemistries do you run? | Two or three, selected by residue | One — it cannot clean every residue class |
| What is the remaining UN service life? | A figure in months | “It is UN certified” |
| Is landed freight included? | A number to my postcode | “Plus freight” or “TBD” |
Short answer
- Question three catches the commonest overcharge in this market
- Question four is the fastest quality signal available
- Question five protects you from a container that expires mid-contract
- Ask us these too — we publish the answers for a reason

The economics of a ten-unit order
Ten units is the most common order size we quote and the most frequently mispriced by the buyer. The lever is not the grade.

We could return a price in four seconds. It would be wrong often enough to be worse than useless, and here is the specific arithmetic of why.
