Terms of sale
Short answer
Need these terms clarified?
1. What a grade means
Every quote names a grade: food, reconditioned, rebottled, rinsed, as-is or scrap. Each grade is a statement about what we did to the container and what we know about its history. It is not a statement that the container is suitable for your product. We supply the prior-contents disclosure and the process record; the compatibility decision is yours, and we are happy to discuss it before you order.
2. Grade does not travel upward
We will not regrade a non-food container to food grade, under any circumstance, for any price. HDPE permeates. Washing changes what is on the surface, not what is in the wall. Any supplier offering this is selling you a liability.
3. Inspection window
You have 48 hours from delivery to inspect and notify us of a discrepancy against the quoted grade. Note visible damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves and photograph it on the truck. Freight claims without a noted receipt are close to unwinnable, and that is a carrier rule, not ours.
4. Title, risk and payment
| Term | Position |
|---|---|
| Title | Passes on receipt of full payment |
| Risk of loss | Passes on loading at origin for customer-arranged freight; on delivery for freight we arrange |
| First orders | Prepay or card, unless you are a public entity |
| Established accounts | Net 30 by agreement, subject to credit review |
| Quote validity | 14 days — resin, scrap steel and freight markets all move |
| Restocking | 20% on returned sound stock, plus return freight |
5. Warranty position
Reconditioned and rebottled containers carry a 30-day leak warranty against defects in our process. Rinsed, as-is and scrap grades are sold without warranty, which is reflected in the price. Nothing we sell carries an implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, because we do not control what you put in it or how you handle it.
6. Regulated transport
If you intend to ship regulated liquid, the UN marking, test dates and packing-group authorisation on the specification plate govern. We quote and supply those details. Confirming that a given assembly is authorised for your material and mode is the shipper’s legal duty, and that shipper is you.
7. Hazardous residue
We do not sell unwashed hazmat-residue containers to anyone, at any price. We accept them for reconditioning and recycling with a manifest. If you sell us containers and misdescribe hazardous residue, the cost of remediation is yours.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Venue is Chatham County, Georgia.

In practice
What each grade commits us to, contractually
The grading language on our size guide is editorial. This is the same thing expressed as what we are agreeing to when a grade appears on an invoice.
| Grade | We warrant | We do not warrant |
|---|---|---|
| Food grade | Compliant resin, documented food-only history, hot-water wash only, no detectable odour | Suitability for your specific product; sterility on arrival |
| Rebottled | New virgin bottle with resin certificate, new wetted parts, 3 psi test pass | That the cage is new; single-manufacturer traceability |
| Reconditioned | Matched-chemistry wash, triple rinse, 3 psi test pass, new gasket, sound cage | Freedom from permeation of prior contents; fitness for a particular purpose |
| Rinsed | Triple rinse, visual inspection, structurally sound | Any test result; any cleanliness standard |
| As-is | Prior contents disclosed in writing, structurally sound | Cleanliness of any kind |
| Scrap | Material weight as ticketed | Any container function whatsoever |
The right-hand column is the one worth reading. In every grade, suitability for your specific product remains your determination — we supply the history and the process record so that determination can be made on evidence rather than on assurance.

Our grading floor is deliberately boring
Six labelled bays, one decision per unit, no judgement calls allowed at the end of a shift. Interesting processes produce inconsistent grades.

What a crushed cage tells you about the bottle inside
Counterintuitively, the worse the cage looks, the better the odds on the bottle. We pulled three years of intake records to check.

Our first failed partner yard audit
We decertified a yard in 2021. They were not cutting corners on purpose — they were running one wash chemistry, and that is enough.

Read the grades page before you order.
Ninety per cent of disputes in this trade come from a buyer and a seller using the word 'clean' to mean two different things. Our grades page removes that ambiguity in about four minutes of reading.
